Logistics Technician Apprentice

This individual will play a variety of roles in several areas such as Inventory, Logistics, Facilities/Office Upkeep, Production Support, etc. Depending on knowledge and experience, this position may be either permanent, or a temporary position with a possible opportunity to become permanent.

This position is entry level and gives a foot in the door in a dynamic, high-tech organization with opportunities to grow within the company.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Inventory management (stocking, organizing, labeling, data entry)
  • Support for logistics, shipping, and receiving (coordinating shipments and deliveries via loading dock, freight elevator, maintenance of stockroom, etc.)
  • Inspect received products and materials for damage, defects, or shortages
  • Liaison with building maintenance/support for any issues (ensuring office temperature is comfortable, bathrooms and building amenities are working as expected, etc.)
  • Build, tear down, set up, and distribute office and lab equipment/furniture, etc.
  • Production Department support (assembly, organization, etc.) and other projects as deemed necessary
  • Drive/travel to other G3 offices in MD, VA, and Washington DC for deliveries

Required Skills and Knowledge:

To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

  • Good mechanical aptitude, comfortable working with your hands
  • Prior experience assembling/building office furniture, tables, etc.
  • Prior shipping and receiving experience
  • Must have excellent hand/eye coordination and be able to lift 50 lbs or more (boxes, equipment, etc).
  • This position requires stamina and physical ability, as the individual must be able to spend 80% of the day on their feet while working in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic computer skills. Working knowledge of Excel and Outlook
  • Positive attitude, like working with and helping others, strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to thrive in a small company, fast pace, dynamic environment
  • Ability to multi-task and be comfortable performing a wide variety of tasks
  • Problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Full time position, on-site presence required in office

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Associates Degree or High School Diploma with 2 years of relevant experience
  • Experience using hand tools and power tools
  • Valid Driver’s License

Additional Desired Skills:

  • Trade school certificate, certification or equivalent experience in computers, networking, electrical/electronics, or related field
